Cake Artist

My introduction to the world of sugar artistry came in an unusual way. At a young age, I always had a passion for art. Utilizing different mediums, I loved to create artistic pieces. I would spend hours drawing, painting and sculpting in my basement bedroom. I dreamed of once owning a gallery to display my art and become a famous artist.

With a keen eye for anything visual, my long career in retail began in Philadelphia for an upscale designer clothes store. Overseeing the window displays was my passion and I commissioned designing a window display for an office supply store. Upon moving to Florida, my career blossomed as a Regional Coordinator/Buyer for 2 major discount retailers, overseeing Garden Center operations in 126 stores in 5 states.

My career was put on hold to raise my three young, beautiful children. Nevertheless, my vision of one day owning an establishment where I could showcase my artistry, would continue to grow. My love of art was fermenting inside of me.

I was persuaded by my wonderful mother to take a local cake decorating class. While learning the basics of cake decorating and having to purchase supplies for my class, I decided to buy a box of fondant. Afraid to touch the fondant, it sat my cabinet for quite sometime. One day, I decided to play with it. From that day foward, I haven't stopped. Cakes have become my canvas for me to my dreams.

Now, I have started my creative journey as a cake artist; creating confectionery works of art for all occasions.  I am also an active member in ICES: International Cake Exploration Socitete'.
